W/F 2d Mao 211 �� Travis Lange TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT ANNEXATION NOS. 281, 349 AND 100 1- 1004 City Manager's Office RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt resolutions approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation Nos. 281, 349 and 1001-1004. BACKGROUND The Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District (formerly known as County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32) provides wastewater treatment services within the District's service area. To provide wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -sharing resolution to provide the reqired funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the public agency responsible for providing services to the subject property. Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. Each percentage listed below is the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the corresponding annexation and will be transferred to the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District: • 0.9951136 for Annexation No. 281 • 1.0996898 for Annexation No. 349 • 0.9981683 for Annexation No. 1001 • 0.9866502 for Annexation No. 1002 • 0.9970704 for Annexation No. 1003 0(0-/S 2eso. • 1.3651065 for Annexation No. 1004 For each of these totals the City is contributing the following percentage of its revenues from the annual tax increment for each annexation area: • 0.000582761 for Annexation No. 281 • 0.001145693 for Annexation No. 349 • 0.001027682 for Annexation No. 1001 • 0.001027682 for Annexation No. 1002 • 0.001027682 for Annexation No. 1003 • 0.001157228 for Annexation No. 1004 For Annexation Nos. 1001-1004 there is also a separate tax sharing resolution for a Street light Maintenance District in these annexation areas. The following is the percentage of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the corresponding annexation and the percentage of revenues from the annual tax increment for each annexation area: • 0.9981683 and 0.000370414 for Annexation No. 1001 • 0.9866502 and 0.000202882 for Annexation No. 1002 • 0.9970704 and 0.000369622 for Annexation No. 1003 • 1.3651065 and 0.000396035 for Annexation No. 1004 These annexations consist of the following: • Annexation No. 281 - two proposed single-family homes located at the corner of Poppy Meadow Street and Julianne Court in the City of Santa Clarita (A.P.N.s 2854-006-025 and 2854-006-023). • Annexation No. 349 - an existing hotel and an existing store located on Sierra Highway north of Scherzinger Lane in the City of Santa Clarita (A.P.N. 2839-001-014). • Annexation No. 1001 - one existing single-family home and one proposed single-family home located on Cross Street south of Maple Street in the City of Santa Clarita. • Annexation No. 1002 - one existing single-family home and a proposed day care center located on Beneda Lane and near the comer of Sierra Highway and Scherzinger Lane in the City of Santa Clarita. • Annexation No. 1003 - vacant land zoned "Industrial" located on Sierra Highway south of San Fernando Road and across from Remson Road in the City of Santa Clarita (Gate King project). • Annexation No. 1004 - proposed shopping center located near the comer of San Fernando Road west of Sierra Highway and near the proposed street Carl Court in the City of Santa Clarita. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. As proposed, the annexations to Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District should result in no adverse fiscal impact to the City.
