SUBJECT: CITY HALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT REPLACEMENT,
PROJECT NO. F 1014 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. City Council approve and accept the work performed by JCT Mechanical, Inc. on the City
Hall Air Conditioning Unit Replacement, Project No. F1014.
2: Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion.
3. Direct staff to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is
recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed, as provided by law.

BACKGROUND
The City Hall building air conditioning equipment, originally installed in 1986, was over 20
years old. A competitive bid was advertised on April 25, April -29, and May 2, 2007, and awarded
to JCT Mechanical, Inc. on June 12, 2007. Five air conditioning package units were installed on
September 29, 2007 and October 6, 2007. The installation was performed to the City's
satisfaction, and all of the new air conditioning units are now in full operation. The new
equipment is much more energy efficient and will result in an undetermined energy savings for
the City.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact created by the approval of the recommended action. Adequate funding
has been budgeted in Account No. F1014601-5161.001 to provide for project costs.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner of the property upon which it
has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as the City Hall Air Conditioning
Unit Replacement Project, Project No F1014.
2. The City's address is 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita,
California 91355-2196.
3. The general location of said public improvements is 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Santa Clarita
California 91355-2196.
4. On June 12, 2007, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to JCT
Mechanical, Inc..
5. Work under said contract was completed on October 6, 2007 to the satisfaction of the
City Engineer, and was accepted by the City on November 13, 2007.
