BRIGHTON LANE IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. S1008 -
PROJECT ACCEPTANCE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. City Council accept the work performed by General Pavement Management for Brighton
Lane Improvements, Project No. S1008.
2. Direct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion.
3. Direct staff to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice, of Completion is
recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed, as provided by law.
BACKGROUND
Brighton Lane, in the Northbridge area, was constructed in the early 1990's while this area was
under Los Angeles County s jurisdiction. The scope of the project was to to repair the area near
the intersection of Brighton Lane and Wilmington Court, where the underlying soil had failed
and settled causing water to pond and create damage to the surrounding area.
On May 23, 2006, the City Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of
$284,056.00 to General Pavement Management. The repair work included surface and
sub -surface improvements, such as street asphalt and concrete sidewalks and driveways.
The construction contract was completed on time and to the satisfaction of the Director of Public
Works.
