F1012 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
I . City Council accept the work performed by Rey -Crest Roofing & Waterproofing Company
for the Corporate Yard Roof Replacement, Project No. F1012.
2. Direct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion.
3. Direct staff to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is
recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed, as provided by law.
BACKGROUND
The existing roof on the City's Corporate Yard building has passed its functional lifespan, and
has been rated a "poor overall condition( approaching failing)" by a professional roofing
consultant. The scope of the project was to to replace the old roof with a new roof. Completing
this roof replacement work prevents water -related damage to the building.
On September 12, 2006, the City Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of
$462,750.00 to Rey -Crest Roofing & Waterproofing Company. Under the Joint Powers Alliance,
the City Council also authorized the purchase of roofing materials in the amount of $192,789.00
The re -roof work included removal of the old roof, replacement of damaged wood, correction of
surface drainage, and installation of the new roof.
The construction contract was completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the
Director of Public Works.

Adequate funding was budgeted for this project in Account No. F1012001.
