HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-04-24 - AGENDA REPORTS - DM GRAPHICS GIS CONSULTING (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: Agenda Item: Ii CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: April 24, 2007 Kevin Tonoian AWARD OF CONTRACT TO DM GEOGRAPHICS LLC FOR PROFESSIONAL GIS CONSULTING SERVICES Administrative Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council approve a contract amendment for an amount not to exceed $80,000 to DM Geographics, LLC for professional Geographic Information System Services. BACKGROUND The City is currently undertaking several organizational priorities such as the One Valley, One Vision project that require a significant amount of professional Geographic Information System (GIS) consulting services. In May of 2006, the City Council considered and approved a contract for GIS consulting services with DM Geographics, LLC in order to augment existing staff and provide additional technical resources to the organization. At this time, staff recommends that the City Council amend the existing Professional Services Agreement with DM Geographics, LLC in an amount not to exceed $80,000. Under the direction of the City's Technology Services Manager, DM Geographics, LLC will continue to provide a total of twenty-four (24) hours of GIS -related services each week in support of organizational efforts within various City Departments, including Community Development, Public Works, and Technology Services. Costs associated with this proposed Professional Services Agreement are currently available and have been previously appropriated by the City Council as part of the FY 2006/07 Annual Budget process. APPROVED ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS 1) Do not amend this Professional Services Agreement. 2) Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL UNIPACT Costs associated with the execution of this Professional Services Agreement shall not exceed $80,000. The cost of this proposed Professional Services Agreement will be shared by the Administrative Services, Community Development, and Public Works Departments. Funds to support this Professional Service Agreement are currently available and have been previously appropriated by the City Council as part of the FY 2006/07 Annual Budget process.
