DESIGNATION OF VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATES
FOR THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL
CONFERENCE
City Manager's Office
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council to designate Mayor Marsha McLean as the voting delegate, and Mayor Pro -
Tem Kellar and Councilmember Weste as alternates for the 2007 League of California
Cities Annual Conference.
BACKGROUND
The League of California Cities 2007 Annual Conference will be held September 5-8 in
Sacramento. An important part of this conference is the Annual Business Meeting, which
is scheduled for the morning of September 8, 2007.
In order to vote at the Annual Business Meeting, the City Council must designate a
voting delegate. In the event that the designated voting delegate is unable to serve in that
capacity, the City Council may appoint up to two alternate voting delegates. Consistent
with the City Council Committee Appointments of 2007, adopted by the City Council
earlier this year, Mayor Marsha Mclean would serve as the voting delegate for the
Annual Business Meeting. Mayor Pro -Tem Bob Kellar and Councilmember Laurene
Weste would be appointed to serve as alternate voting delegates.
Per the League of California Cities bylaws, a City's voting delegate and up to two
alternates must be designated by the City Council. Designating the voting delegate and
alternates must be done by the City Council, and the City Council action reflecting the
Council's designations must be provided to the League by August 13, 2007.
