BACKGROUND
The City of Santa Clarita operates six aquatic facilities throughout the Valley. In order to safely
operate these sites, various chemicals are required to maintain proper water balance and
sanitation.
The Purchasing Division, in partnership with Parks, Recreation & Community Services, issued
an Invitation for Bid for pool chemicals for various City pools in August 2007. The bid was
publicly advertised three times in the local paper on August 20, 22, and 27, and notices were sent
to ten vendors, as well as the VIA and Chamber of Commerce. Fourteen vendors downloaded
the bid specifications from the City's website, and eight bid responses were received, three of
which were "no bids."
