RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council discuss the possibility of forming a standing City Council subcommittee for the
purpose of considering issues related to public safety and provide direction.
BACKGROUND
During the May 22, 2007 City Council Meeting, Council Member Tim Ben Boydston requested
that the City Manager agendize a discussion regarding the possible creation of a subcommittee
that would consider issues related to public safety. Subsequent to Council Member Boydston's
request, this item was agendized for discussion during the June 12, 2007 City Council Meeting.
During the June 12 meeting, the City Council requested that this item be continued and
scheduled for discussion after the City Council hiatus.
The City Council creates subcommittees for the purpose of reviewing in detail various issues
impacting the City and providing recommendations to the City Council for action. If created,
this subcommittee will be a standing committee subject to the Brown Act.
