SUBJECT: SAN FERNANDO ROAD STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT
NO. C2021 - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council accept the work performed by Padilla Paving Company, Incorporated for the San
Fernando Road Street Improvements, Project No. C2021; direct the City Clerk to file the
attached Notice of Completion; and direct staff to release the retention 35 days after the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed, as provided by law.
BACKGROUND
San Fernando Road had been experiencing significant traffic congestion and delay approaching
the signalized intersections from Railroad Avenue to Sierra Highway. The City Council approved
the implementation of restriping San Fernando Road from four to six lanes to increase capacity
and reduce congestion and delay. In addition to the proposed project, a Class III bike route was
included as part of the restriping.
On February 28, 2006, City Council awarded the construction contract for the San Fernando
Road Street Improvements project to Padilla Paving Company, Incorporated. The project was
completed to the City Engineer's satisfaction on December 1, 2006. Funding for the project was
obtained through local funds.

Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds were budgeted in Account Nos. C2021303-8001, C2021455-8001, and
C2021001-8001 for this project.
