City Council approve and accept the completion of the 2005-06 Community Median Landscape San Fernando Road Project B0002. 2. Direct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 3. Direct staff to release the remaining 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices, as provided by law, have been filed. 4. Authorize an increase of $185,000 to the contract with MNS Engineers for additional design costs for Phase II. BACKGROUND The 2005-06 Community Median Landscape project is a street beautification project that consists of a raised concrete curb with an 18 -inch wide stamped, colored, and concrete mow strip, and various landscape trees and shrubs. The stamped concrete design integrates into the Landscape Maintenance District's standards, and has the same pattern and color as the segment of Newhall Ranch Road from Copper Hill Drive to Interstate 5. The project limits are along San Fernando Road from Oak Ridge Drive to Drayton Street. The project was advertised May 17, 2007, and bids opened on June 21, 2007. The construction contract was awarded to R. C. Becker & Son on July 10, 2007. Construction of the landscaped median was completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on February 6, 2008, and work was completed within budget. I. PPROVED The design for a continuation median, Phase II, past Magic Mountain Parkway along Bouquet Canyon Road to Soledad Canyon Road is in progress. The cost for the design for Phase II was included with this project in order to save the City money. ' ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Adequate funds have been provided for project costs. The City's address is 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, California 91355-2196. 3. The general location of said public improvements is San Fernando Road From Oak Ridge Drive to Drayton Street. 4. On July 10, 2007, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to R. C. Becker & Son, Inc. 5. Work under said contract was completed on February 6, 2008, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer, and was accepted by the City on April 22, 2008. Sharon L.
