This item is posted in conformance with the Brown Act and is to be considered as part of the regular agenda. CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered routine and will be enacted by one motion by the City Council. The items are not individually discussed by the City Council unless a request is made by a member of the public or the Council, in which case, the item(s) will be removed from the Consent Calendar and will be considered separately. 12A. HOMELESS SHELTER AD HOC COMMITTEE — As a result of Councilmember Ferry's involvement with the Emergency Winter Shelter Task Force last year, consideration of creating a Homeless Shelter Ad Hoc Committee and appointing a representative. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Amend the City Council Committee Appointments List for 2008 to include the Homeless Shelter Ad Hoc Committee and appoint Councilmember Laurie Ender to serve on this committee. Dawson, MMC City Clerk Santa Clarita, California J 2 CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Approv Item to be presented 1 DATE: October 14, 2008 SUBJECT: Homeless Shelter Ad Hoc Committee DEPARTMENT: City Manager's Office RECOMMENDED ACTION Agenda Item: City Council to amend the City Council Committee Appointments List for 2008 to include the Homeless Shelter Ad Hoc Committee, and appoint Councilmember Laurie Ender to serve on this committee. BACKGROUND Mayor Pro Tem Frank Ferry was requested by Supervisor Michael Antonovich to participate in the Emergency Winter Shelter Task Force last year. It has been determined that there is a continued need for the Homeless Shelter Ad Hoc Committee. Staff recommends that an official City Council Committee be created, and Council appoint a representative. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Other actions as determined by Council FISCAL IMPACT None by this action.
