A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
LEVY AND COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS FOR THE OPEN SPACE
PRESERVATION DISTRICT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/09
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California (the "Act"), desires to initiate proceedings for the Open
Space Preservation District (the "District") and for the levy and collection of assessments within
the proposed Districts for Fiscal Year 2008/09, for the purposes provided therefore in the Act;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has retained Hams and Associates, for the purpose of
assisting with the Annual Levy of the District, and to prepare and file a report with the City Clerk
in accordance with the Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. Annual Levy Report: The City Council hereby orders Harris and
Associates, acting as Assessment Engineer, to prepare and file with the City Clerk the
Assessment Engineer's Annual Levy Report concerning the installation, construction, or
maintenance, of any authorized improvements under the Act, and the levy and collection of
assessments for the District as required by the provisions of the Assessment Law.
SECTION 2. District Improvements: The funding of activities under the City of Santa
Clarita Open Space Program, Park and Parklands Program, including the acquisition,
preservation, improvement, servicing, financing, and maintenance of open space lands, parks and
parkland and appurtenant facilities, and incidental expenses in connection with the Open Space
Park and Parkland Program for the City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
