BACKGROUND
For approximately 19 years, the City of Santa Clarita has provided funds for community
organizations through the Community Services Grant Program. Each year, a Community
Services Grant Committee is assembled to determine funding categories, review and rate
applications, and make final funding recommendations. This year's grant selection committee
included Councilmembers Frank Ferry and Laurie Ender, Adele Macpherson, Carmen Magana,
Phil Lantis, Patrick Bryant, and Terasa Sullivan. Examples of past funding included
enhancement of tutoring programs, assistance in after school care facility renovation projects,
and the purchase of vehicles to transport food to familes in need.
The City of Santa Clarita provided an opportunity for applicants to meet and network in
preparation for writing grants.

totaling $201,537.

proposed projects and agencies).
