AUTHORIZE A ONE-YEAR RENEWAL OF AN EXISTING
CONTRACT FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE SANTA
CLARITA SPORTS COMPLEX

RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. City Council approve the renewal of Bell Building Maintenance contract for janitorial
services for an amount not to exceed $113,203, plus a 15 percent contingency fee of $16,980,
for a total of $130,183.
2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents, subject to City Attorney
approval.
BACKGROUND
The City of Santa Clarita previously completed a janitorial services bid for the Santa Clarita
Sports Complex. This resulted in Council awarding a contract at the May 22, 2007, City Council
meeting. The janitorial services bid included all routine cleaning services, seven days per week,
with additional services during aquatic swim meets and other services as required.
Performance by the contractor has been satisfactory. The original contract was for one year with
the option of three annual renewals. The City Council has approved two, one-year renewals.
Staff believes approving the final renewal year of the contract is in the best interest of the City.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for this -expenditure, in the amount of $130,183, are currently budgeted in account
15203-5161.001 for the Fiscal Year 2010-11 operating base budget.
