Extend landscape services contract with Oakridge Landscape to December 31, 2010 for an amount not to exceed $115,000, plus a 15% contingency, for services to Landscape Maintenance District Zone T-47 Northpark. 2. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute related contract, and issue purchase orders, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND The purpose of this agenda item is to request the City Council authorization to extend a landscape service contract with Oakridge Landscape to maintain Landscape Maintenance District (LMD) Zone T47 Northpark for four additional months through December 31, 2010. The City's original contract to provide landscape services for LMD Zone T47 Northpark was awarded through a competitive bidding process in 2006 and represented the lowest responsive bid at the time of contract award. City Council's approval of the recommended action authorizes staff to extend the terms of its contract with Oakridge Landscape while concurrently preparing bid specifications to put landscape maintenance services for Zone T47 Northpark back out to competitive bid in the marketplace. Staff anticipates returning to City Council in October of 2010 with a recommendation to approve a new competitively awarded contract for LMD Zone T47 Northpark that will go into effect before December 31, 2010. APPROVED ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by City Council. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. Adequate monies were appropriated from the LMD Fund Balance as part of the FY 2010/11 Annual Budget process to fund costs associated with providing landscape maintenance services for LMD Zone T47 Northpark. -z-
