GLOVER MEMORIAL BRIDGE"
City Manager's Office
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council honor the late Deputy Cameron Glover and his family by renaming the recently
completed Golden Valley Bridge, the "Deputy Cameron Glover Memorial Bridge" and direct
staff to place insignia at the site in order to recognize this action.
BACKGROUND
On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, Deputy Cameron Glover, 27, a member of the Los Angeles
County Sheriffs Department, was riding his motorcycle northbound on McBean Parkway near
Granary Square when he and a car collided. Deputy Glover suffered critical injuries and was
rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where he passed away later that evening.
Deputy Glover was a graduate of Canyon High School and had worked at the Santa Clarita
Valley's Sheriffs Station since May 2008. He was a four-year Sheriffs veteran and a computer
expert who worked patrol. Deputy Cameron Glover is survived by his wife, brother, mother and
father.
At the May 11, 2010, City Council meeting, Councilmember Laurie Ender asked for an item to
be brought forth to the Council to consider honoring the late Deputy Glover and his family by
renaming the recently completed Golden Valley Bridge, the "Deputy Cameron Glover Memorial
Bridge."
