Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion. 3. Direct staff to release the remaining retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed, as provided by law. 4. Decrease Expenditure Account M0063233-5161.001 by $596,792 and increase Expenditure Account M0063230-5161.001 by $596,792. 5. Decrease Expenditure Account M0063233-5161.001 by $20,939 and increase Expenditure Account M0063601-5161.001 by $20,939. BACKGROUND The 2008-09 Annual Overlay and Slurry Seal project is an integral part of the City's pavement management program. Each year streets are evaluated and identified for asphalt overlay and slurry seal maintenance treatments. The project resurfaces streets in various areas of the City to provide a smoother ride for traffic, enhance the appearance of the roadway and surrounding area, and extend the life of the roadway. This project included the pavement preparation and dig outs, followed by the asphalt rubberized hot mix overlay on streets. Some of the streets improved included Valencia Boulevard, Decoro Drive, Rockwell Canyon Road, Soledad Canyon Road, 16th Street, Langside Avenue, Shangri-La Drive, Avenue Hopkins, Avenue Rockefeller, the ggggggS # I [% �i �af intersection of Rye Canyon Road and Avenue Stanford, the Class I trail along Soledad Canyon Road, and several residential neighborhoods in Canyon Country, Saugus, Newhall, and Valencia. A complete listing of streets included in this project is attached. The City Council awarded the construction contract to Excel Paving Company. This project was completed within budget to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on October 15, 2009. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Budget costs included construction management, inspection, and administration costs. The recommended funding exchanges do not increase nor decrease the previously appropriated budget and adequately provides for all project costs. The general locations of said public improvements are the Valencia Industrial Center, Canyon Country area, and various residential areas within the City. 4. On June 9, 2009, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to Excel Paving Company. Work under said contract was completed on October 15, 2009, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer, and was accepted by the City on March 23, 2010. Sarah P.
