A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH A NO -STOPPING ZONE
ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF NEWHALL RANCH ROAD BETWEEN
AVENUE TIBBITTS AND MCBEAN PARKWAY
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California provides for
local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets or
highways or portion thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish
no -stopping zones on public streets and highways.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. That a no -stopping zone along the south side of Newhall Ranch Road
between Avenue Tibbitts and a point seven hundred fifty (750) feet west of McBean Parkway for
a total of 1,825 feet shall be established.
SECTION 2. The establishment of the no -stopping zone shall apply when appropriate
signs and/or curb markings giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in
Section 1.
SECTION 3. That staff shall install the necessary signs and/or markings to affect this
resolution.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
