BACKGROUND
The City of Santa Clarita applied for and was awarded a grant of $9,500.00 from the National
Inclusion Project to implement Let's ALL Play — Inclusion in Recreational Programs. This
partnership will continue to allow children with special needs to enjoy a successful summer camp
experience in an inclusive setting.
Last year, the Inclusion Services Program saw an an increase of over 600% in special
accommodations. The grant funds will be used for a portion of salaries for part-time Inclusion
Aides during the summer Camp Clarita program. This will enable the Inclusion Services
Program to further meet the needs of participants by providing them with aides.
The United States Department of Justice regulates the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
and provides technical assistance on compliance with standards. The Inclusion Services Program
