Enforcement Program (STEP) assists agencies to combat impaired driving, discourage distracted
driving, advance pedestrian, motorcycle, and bicycle safety, and enforce traffic laws.
This grant will be used to fund saturation patrols to address driving under the influence of
alcohol and/or drugs as well as distracted driving and motorcyle safety. These programs are also
designed to raise public awareness and earn media attention, thus, enhancing the overall deterrent
effect.

2. Other direction as determined by City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total cost of the program is $40,000, to be offset completely by grant funds.
