BACKGROUND City of Santa Clarita (City) staff received a request from the Saugus Union School District to reestablish on -street parking in the vicinity of their offices on Avenue Stanford. Due to a recent change of tenants in the surrounding facilities, on -street parking demand has increased drastically. The Saugus Union School District expressed it is difficult for staff to find adequate parking within close proximity to their offices for meetings and trainings. The existing no -stopping zone is along the entire frontage of the adjacent property, 25000 Avenue Stanford, and the Saugus Union School District requested parking be reestablished in that area to help meet this demand. City staff contacted a representative of the property owners for 25000 Avenue Stanford. The representative was in agreement with reestablishing parking along their frontage. The property manager for the adjacent property at 25020 Avenue Stanford also supports additional on -street parking. A site review determined 200 feet of parking could be safely reestablished, while still maintaining no -stopping zones near the driveways for motorist visibility (see attached diagram). ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other actions as determined by the City Council. kd0ki, Rem by - L43 FISCAL IMPACT The work to modify the existing no -stopping signs is estimated at $300. Adequate funds are available in the Traffic Signs and Markings Account, 14504-5141.008.
