Award the purchase of a dual rear wheel, crew cab, utility body truck to Wondries Ford in an amount not to exceed $57,034.76, and a 4 x 4, dual rear wheel, crew cab truck to Raceway Ford in an amount not to exceed $82,191.71. 2. Authorize the City Manager or designee to modify all documents to contract with the next lowest and/or qualified bidder/proposer in the event the awardee is unable to fulfill its obligations or perform, subject to City Attorney final document approval. BACKGROUND The City Council authorized the purchase of a dual rear wheel, crew cab, utility body, replacement truck for Public Works' Stormwater Division and a new, 4 x 4, dual, rear wheel, crew cab truck for Parks, Recreation, and Community Services' Graffiti Division, during the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 budget process. Due to the complex nature of the requirements for both trucks, no local vendors were able to bid on the vehicles. The utility truck will be used by the Stormwater division to remove raised and damaged sidewalks and pavement. The 4 x 4 truck will be used by Parks' staff for graffiti mitigation. Stormwater Truck — A request for bids was published on Planet Bids, October 30, 2013, and was sent to 76 vendors, downloaded by 14, and the City received the following four responses on November 21, 2013: lIG Supplier City Amount Wondries Ford Alhambra, CA $57,034.76 Raceway Ford Riverside, CA $60,647.86 Fairview Ford San Bernardino, CA $64,863.98 Frontier Ford Santa Clara, CA $65,848.25 Graffiti Truck - A request for bids was published on Planet Bids, November 27, 2013, for the Graffiti Truck, was sent to 329 vendors (the extended list was due to the "utility body" category which has many more possible vendors), downloaded by 13 vendors, and the City received the following four responses: Supplier Raceway Ford Fairview Ford Theodore Robbin Wondries Ford ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS City Amount Riverside, CA $82,191.71 San Bernardino, CA $85,684.07 Costa Mesa, CA $85,824.42 Alhambra, CA $88,822.99 Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Adequate funds for these vehicles were appropriated during the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 budget process in the following Accounts: 15307-5201.003 (Graffiti Removal) and 14600-5201.003 (Stormwater).
