AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2.26 PLANNING
COMMISSION, CHAPTER 2.28 PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
COMMISSION, AND CHAPTER 2.29 ARTS COMMISSION OF TITLE 2
ADMINISTRATION AND PERSONNEL, OF THE SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE
CONCERNING COMMISSIONER TERMS AND ORGANIZATION
WHEREAS, on March 24, 2015, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved
the City of Santa Clarita's request to move its City Council election to November of even years;
WHEREAS, it is the intent that Commissioners' terms to run concurrently with the terms
of the nominating City Councilmember;
WHEREAS, each of the Commissions votes in a Chair and Vice -Chair from amongst
their membership; and
WHEREAS, to maintain continuity of service it is in the best interest to move the
member election of the Chair and Vice -Chair.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the following sections of Chapters 2.26, 2.28, and 2.29 are amended
as shown on Exhibit A attached:
Chapter 2.26 — Planning Commission
Section 2.26.020 Members.
Section 2.26.070 Organization.
Chapter 2.28 — Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission
Section 2.28.020 Members.
Section 2.28.080 Orizanization.
Chapter 2.29 — Arts Commission
Section 2.29.020 Members.
Section 2.29.080 Organization.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from its
passage and adoption.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published as required by law.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 24th day of November 2015.

I, Kevin Tonoian, City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita, do hereby certify that the
foregoing Ordinance 15-10 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 10th day of November 2015. That thereafter, said Ordinance
was duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 24th day of
November 2015, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Weste, Acosta, Kellar, Boydston, McLean
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the foregoing is the original of Ordinance 15-10 and
was published in The Signal newspaper in accordance with State Law (G.C. 40806).

Chapter 2.26
Planning Commission
Sections:
2.26.020 Members.
2.26.070 Organization.
2.26.020 Members.
The Planning Commission shall consist of five (5) members, each of whom shall be a resident of
the City of Santa Clarita and shall be appointed by the City Council pursuant to the procedure
and terms set forth by resolution of the City Council. All such terms will run through December
31 of the fourth calendar year after the appointment date or until their successor is appointed
(whichever is later). Commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council.
2.26.070 Organization.
The Commission shall elect a Chair and a Vice -Chair from among its members, each for a term
of one year, at its first regular meeting after January 31 st of each year. The Commission may also
appoint such other officers as may be necessary for the administration of its business, at the same
time and for like terms. The officers shall enter in the duties of their office at the first regular
meeting after appointment. The Commission shall adopt rules and regulations for the transaction
of its business and shall keep a record of all its minutes, resolutions, actions, findings and
determinations.

Chapter 2.28
Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission
Sections:
2.28.020 Members.

2.28.020 Members.
The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission shall consist of five (5) members,
each of whom shall be a resident of the City of Santa Clarita and shall be appointed by the City
Council pursuant to the procedure and terms set forth by resolution of the City Council. All such
terms will run through December 31 of the fourth calendar year after the appointment date or
